Healing Massage

Massage is an ancient healing practice involving the manipulation of soft tissue/muscles. It acts to restore balance to the body's system, often impaired by the repetitive tasks and stresses of every day life, leading to pain and discomfort.

Holistic or intuitive massage focuses on treating the individual as a whole, taking into account mind, body and spirit, rather than just concentrating on physical conditions.Β  Regular massage can relieve headaches, back, neck and shoulder pain, insomnia, fatigue, depression, poor circulation and stress, among numerous other conditions.

Holistic massage can involve gentle or deep tissue massage, depending on the individual needs of the client. It has the ability to redress minor muscular tensions caused by stress, illness and over use, increase energy, invigorate and bring about a feeling of relaxation and calm to the whole body.

This is not a sports or a remedial massage. I have cultivated my own unique style of massage. I gained my ITEC diploma in Holistic Massage fifteen years ago and have gained experience working in top London spas over the years. My style includes traditional Swedish massage combined with more flowing Eastern techniques.

During consultation with you, I will decide what treatment suits you best. My massages also include 10/15 mins of Reiki energy healing. 90 minute massages also include abdominal, head massage and facial massage.

Hot Stone Massage

This is a wonderful therapy as it works much deeper than a traditional massage. Hot Stone Massage consists of a full body massage with preheated basalt stones (volcanic stones that are known for their heat retaining properties) and application of warm stones to the body.

It is said that one stroke with the stones is equivalent to seven with the hands.

The Origins of Hot Stone Massage

Hot stones warmed by fire were used by Native Americans to treat aching muscles, but the modern revival of hot stones in massage is generally credited to Mary Nelson, a native of Tucson, Arizona. She trademarked her style of hot stone massageΒ called La Stone Therapy, which has a Native American spiritual component.
